Alzheimer's Support Group

In affiliation with the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, we offer support groups at the United Methodist Church in Brunswick at the following times:

The first Tuesday of every month from 9:30 to 11 am. 

The third Tuesday of the month at1:00 to 2:30 pm.

Care is available for a loved one while you attend the group at no charge. Advance notice for care is required by calling Nancy Herk-Bott at 729-8571.

New Drug Approved For Treatment of Alzheimers

Memantine is a drug approved in October 2003 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Forest Laboratories will market the drug under the trade name Namenda. Forest anticipates that Memantine will be available in U.S. pharmacies by early 2004.
