Executive Director:

Bath-Brunswick Respite Care is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Executive Director who will join us in providing outstanding service to our clientele in the
mid-coast region of Maine. BBRC offers adult day programs for people dealing with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, as well as other effects of aging.
We also provide caregiver support groups for family and friends, individual counseling, and community educational programs.

The Executive Director is the chief administrative officer of BBRC and, as such, is responsible for the implementation of policies established by the Board of
Directors. This individual is involved in all aspects of our organization, including program development, human resources management, and communications with
the staff, the Board and with outside agencies. In cooperation with the BBRC Treasurer, the Executive Director participates in financial management and
budget development and works with members of the Board’s Finance Committee to carry out fundraising efforts to ensure continuous financial support for our
programs.

The Executive Director is responsible for recruiting and supervising BBRC staff members. At present, the Executive Director is supported by an Operations Coordinator, a Senior Program Manager, two Program Managers, and a team of experienced volunteers.

The successful Executive Director will be able to communicate well, in speech and in writing, with staff, caregiver families, Clients and the communities we serve.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and must be able to collaborate and communicate directly with Board members who, themselves, are
actively working on projects within and for the organization.

 

Minimum Professional Qualifications:
● A Bachelor’s degree and significant relevant work experience.
● An understanding of the special needs of individuals with cognitive impairment.
● Compassion for and an ability to work with family caregivers and BBRC clients.
● Budgeting and financial management skills.
● Human resource management skills.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills.
● An ability to develop collaborative partnerships with funding sources such as
donors and granting agencies as well as volunteers and community agencies.

Position Description:
The BBRC Executive Director position is a full-time, salaried twelve-month appointment. This person will be expected to work on-site, Monday through Friday. The BBRC facility is located in Bath, on the beautiful Maine coast.

Compensation:
Salary is competitive and dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Vacation, holidays, sick leave and support for health insurance are included.
