The Respite Care program, housed in the former Bath Hospital, offers a welcoming space tailored to member's needs. The cozy living room provides a place to relax, enjoy music, or watch news clips. Our program room, with a large table, is perfect for group activities like art projects or coffee gatherings, fostering connection. The activity room, with high ceilings, is ideal for games, performances, and animal visits. Outside, the garden offers a space for growth during warmer months.

The building is a lively, mixed-use space with businesses, apartments, artist studios, and a café, creating a mini community. Members can interact with the broader community through group walks or relaxing summer afternoons with ice cream on the lawn.

A Variety of Activities

Our members, with a wide range of ability levels, participate in a variety of group and individual activities designed to promote cognitive stimulation, physical health, and joy. While many activities are enjoyed as a group, we also prioritize personal choice, encouraging members to engage in the things they love. Our program staff tailors each day to fit the needs and preferences of the members attending, ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, feels successful, engaged, and joyful. A typical day may include yoga, baking, games, art, animal visits, musical performances, and numerous opportunities for social interaction, all designed to accommodate each member's unique needs and abilities.

Respite Care’s adult day program is conveniently located at 9 Park Street, Suite 118, in Bath, Maine. Nestled in a quiet and safe neighborhood, this location offers a peaceful environment for participants. It is easily accessible, just 15 minutes from Brunswick, 20 minutes from Wiscasset, and 30 minutes from Harpswell, ensuring that families can conveniently access the program from surrounding areas.
