My husband Ray began attending The Club at Bath-Brunswick Respite Care in July 2021. He loves being there!
The Club provides activities and enrichment that benefit Ray and keep him socially connected. He loves to sing and do art work. He's game for anything that is on the program for the day. The Club has different activi- ties every 30 minutes or so, keeping him engaged. When I pick him up, he is in a good mood. He's tired because he had an active day. The Club provides what I can't - constant attention and a variety of things to do.
The Club gives me a few hours to take care of myself. I can spend time having coffee with a friend, get a facial, take a walk. I get refreshed and am ready to become a caregiver again as l've had time on my own. Without The Club and Bath-Brunswick Respite Care, I would be a frazzled, short-tempered mess. That's not good for me or my beloved Ray.
Nancy Herk, Pamela, Kathy, Lex and the volunteers do a wonderful job of making Ray feel at home. They are friendly, caring and make him feel welcome and secure. When there is an emergency, such as the day that Ray fell, they were quick to assess and act for Ray's well-being. They handle the day-to-day workings of The Club well.
I am so grateful for their expertise and care.
